Bid call for 2022 European Disc Golf Championship/European Masters Disc Golf Championship (EDGC/EMDGC) will open on March 12

EDGFOn March 12, 2020, EDGF will open a bid call for 2022 European Disc Golf Championship/European Masters Disc Golf Championship (EDGC/EMDGC). All information including the bid package will be published on the EDGF website http://www.discgolffederation.eu/Wordpress by March 12, 2020.

The bid conditions will be very similar to those for EDGC 2020, however there will be three important changes:

(1) the dates restriction – due to the global scheduling agreement the 2022 EDGC and 2022 EMDGC must be held during the time window August 14-27, 2022. No other dates are allowed, as PDGA cannot guarantee us deconfliting with the PDGA 2022 major event that will be only scheduled in December 2020. However, the second (reserve) date of the organizer can lie outside of this time window.

(2) the capacity of EMDGC will increase to 150 from 120 (in 2020), the increase reflects the high interest observed in registration of master age players across all divisions for EMDGC 2020

(3) as in 2020, also in 2022 there will be formally separate EJDGC (junior divisions); this provision will once again allow all the best junior players to compete with other juniors regardless of their Am/Pro status with PDGA; EJDGC will be in reality organized along with EDGC (same place, same dates, same TDs, etc.), so this is only a formality (the same structure is used in 2020, however, it was not set this way in the 2020 bid package).
